Mongolian Trip 2012
Find Us On Facebook

During August I was privileged to spend three weeks working as a vet on the Mongol Derby. What a wonderful experience. The Mongolian countryside is absolutely beautiful. The Mongolian people who we lived and worked with were all so hospitable, friendly and so easy going that it was a humbling experience. The Mongolian horses, and we must have seen half a million horses, and horsemanship was simply fantastic. The unique and simple nomadic way of life that still exists today, and their dependence on and relationship with their horses is unique, and really makes one think about how necessary our material needs are. We were fortunate in having a wonderful team of vets and medics and organisers. We worked hard and played hard and it was simply great to be part of a team that gelled from day one.

Here is a collection of images taken during my trip.
